Machine Vision - the reliable checking procedure
Machine Vision is counting among the key-technologies of the contactless production check. The modern machine-vision is irreplaceable during industrial processes.
Whether quality check during logistics and diagnostics for marking or during data handling: machine-vision-systems are untrickable and reliable measuring- and checking devices. The visual- and therefore contactless - quality check is able to control the material flow whilst measuring the production tolerances up to the quality check, and in connection with super ordinated controls faulty ports will be excluded from further production.

Pharmacological additives are packaged in ampoule for clinical applications after the production. These are marked with labels that depend on the ingredients. After the application of the labels the plain writing designation of 47 figures, which stretches across 4 lines, has to be checked. Though should be found a system, which realizes the complete checkup with a throughput of 30 ampoules per second.
With the PC based image processing system Vision Scape by Microscan the high-speed application for scanning could be permuted. The camera with flash lighting is directly after the adhesive bonding station of the marks installed in the fully-automated ampoule filling system. To minimize the movement sharpness at the image acquisition in the high-speed process, at every ampoule the necessary illumination circumstances are created by a high energy flashes for a few milliseconds. The image processing cycle of the camera is synchronized with the flash lighting so that the exposure time sufficed for an image acquisition. Within 30 ms the mark inscription is compared with the specifications and in case of no correlation a signal for rejection of an ampoule with defective overprint is delivered to the machine.
Via the high-capacity image processing system an inline inspection is also possible with a high rate of production. The packaging after the filling and marking is feasible without further delays.
